One to One Dog Training
One to one dog training sessions offer far greater flexibility than group training, and lessons can be tailored specifically to the needs of your dog. Our classes cover the same points as group classes, apart from group socialisation.
Initial assessment
The first step is to assess you and your dog. This can take place in your own home, at a local park or other suitable place. We start by looking at the existing relationship you have with your dog – this is often overlooked, but is vitally important if your dog is going to listen to and respond to you.
Understanding how dogs learn
We then move on to discuss some basic learning principles. Rather than simply showing you how to teach an exercise to your dog, we believe it is important that you also have an understanding of how dogs learn and how to motivate them. This includes knowing how to use rewards/punishments (what is appropriate and what is not), and the importance of good timing. If you understand the basic concepts, you will be able to communicate far more clearly and effectively with your dog, and achieve so much more.
Individual training schedule for your dog
Each dog/owner relationship is different and their requirements differ. For that reason, we don’t set minimum or maximum limits on the number of sessions required or the length of time it may take to ensure you have a happy and healthy companion and member of your family.
