Meet Winston the young Dachshund. His human companions needed a little help with his excessive barking and reactiveness. In his home consultation we focused on switching him out of his barking with distraction and reward as well as modifying his home environment. Great start and looking for to the next time I see him where we will be going out. Real world dog training.

Meet Mable the 8 month old Doberman. Mable’s human companions needed help with her excessive mouthing and play biting. A change of training methods were needed as nothing had worked as well as confident leadership skills and I’m pleased to hear there has been a great improvement so no quick fix but work in progress.

Meet Bertie the 20 month old Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Having had a disrupted early life after being in a couple of homes his human companions needed a little help with his separation anxiety. Now with a different approach hopefully he will soon become more settled.

Meet Ludo the Cavapoo. Ludo came down to the school so he and his human companion could get a better walk. Great responsive 8 month old pup. Well done guys!

Working alongside rescues we are often asked to help with dog introductions. It’s so important to do this gradually with some dogs and not rush the process. Pictured here are 2 French Bulldogs, one a rescue that’s been in kennels and the other is a young dog that due to lockdown didn’t get a chance to be socialised as a pup. After the first session it’s looking very encouraging.

Meet Kanto the 4 month old Shiba Inu pup seen here at his puppy consultation. Kanto has been pushing the boundaries a little so a new approach was needed to ensure he knows his place in the family pack. Great little pup that just needs the right encouragement, guidance and approach.

Meet Storm the 2 year old rescue. Her foster “parents” came to us for some help as they hope to adopt her but needed a little help with her pulling as well as being a little reactive. They all did great at the first session and is already walking to heel. Looking forward to seeing her again soon. Well done guys!

Meet Logan the GSD. Logan’s human companion needed a little help to understand his infrequent reactiveness/dominant behaviour. Watching your dogs behaviour closely can often be all that’s needed to stop them reacting but the signs can be very subtle in confident dogs.

Meet Molli the 12 month old Romanian rescue seen here with one of her human companions. Molli can pull and be a little reactive when on in new situations whilst on the lead so we looked at changing the equipment, technique and with timely reward looked to steadily improve these issues. Well done girls!
